Four regions, and what that actually buys you

An honest accounting of where our edge nodes are, what latency they deliver, and where we are still bad.

We run edge capacity in four regions: the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Marketing copy usually stops there. Here is the rest of it.

Within those regions, median round-trip time to the nearest node sits between eleven and twenty-eight milliseconds depending on how close you are to a metro. That is genuinely good and it is the number competitive Nullpoint is built around.

Outside them, it is worse and we should say so. If you are playing from South America, West Africa or most of Central Asia, you are routed to a node that is a long way away and you will feel it in anything with tight timing. Halcyon Drift and Nullpoint are the two titles where this materially changes the experience.

Expanding coverage is a capital question rather than an engineering one, and we would rather publish the current state accurately than imply a global footprint we do not have. When a region is added it will be announced here with its measured numbers rather than its intended ones.
